There have been a number of times I have gotten a quick lesson in the store. It is hard to put a price on that.
This is a terrific hardware store. Somehow they manage to stock everything that chains with much larger footprints do. But Kendalls is about more than selling things; they create community. If you need help finding something, someone will help you. Even if you don't know what you are looking for, someone will help you. And if someone doesn't know, someone will find Steve. You can give Steve a hazy idea of what you are trying to do and he will manage not to laugh while gently edifying you as to what you are actually trying to do, and how to do it--be it plumbing, carpentry, power tools, obscure hardware or fixtures ...
Also, be advised that due to the diverse selection of goods kept in stock, you will likely leave with more than you had on your list.
